HD Hyundai and Kiewit have formed a joint venture to construct an advanced shipyard in the United States. Full operations for the facility are targeted for 2029.

Kiewit Maritime Co. president Chad Johnson stated the joint venture will expand US shipbuilding capacity and develop a skilled domestic workforce.
